• Harvesting living ironwood trees is prohibited. The artisans gather ironwood from naturally fallen trees. Green wood is not suitable or used for carving.

• Ironwood requires hours of carving, hand sanding, polishing, and artistic eye to capture the beautiful grain inherent to ironwood. The result is that no two pieces are identical.
